Make your own way to the Eurostar Terminal at St. Pancras Station and meet up with your Greatdays representative who will accompany us on the tour. We will take a late morning train to Paris Gare du Nord, where we will meet up with a local guide for a short Paris by bus discovery tour making a special stop at Avenue Rapp to wonder at the extraordinary, flamboyant and eccentric architecture of renowned Art Nouveau architect Jules Lavirotte before checking-in at our hotel, the Novotel Paris Tour Eiffel. The rest of the day and evening is at leisure.
Saturday 04 October
Using our Metro pass, we will depart after breakfast for Galeries Lafayette or Printemps for a private heritage tour and discover one of these amazing department stores. From here we will continue to the 19th century Opera Garnier to marvel at the building’s spectacular structure and ornate stonework before enjoying lunch together at a traditional Parisian restaurant. In the afternoon, we can enjoy a guided walk through the historic Parisian arcades finishing at La Samaritaine where we can have some free time. This is one of the original Art Nouveau style department stores in Paris and one of the most impressive buildings in the 1st arrondissement of Paris. The rest of the day and evening is at leisure. Museum D’Orsay and the Chic 16th District.
Once again, using our Metro pass, we will visit the Museum D’Orsay which is located on the Left Bank of the Seine. It is housed in the former Gare d'Orsay, a Beaux-Arts railway station built between 1898 and 1900. There will be time to have an optional lunch in the museum before enjoying a guided walking tour around Paris’ chic 16th arrondissement. See neighbourhood Art Nouveau townhouses, hotels, and the iconic metro entrances built by Hector Guimard, a leading figure of the art nouveau movement. The rest of the day and evening is at leisure.
Monday 06 October
Return to London
Depart breakfast by coach fr the transfer to Paris Gare du Nord for the mid-day Eurostar train to London St Pancras. From here, make our own way home.
