Hulme Hall in Port Sunlight is a Grade II listed building. Built in 1901 as a women’s dining hall, it became an art gallery from 1911. The Beatles gave four performances at Hulme Hall, the first on 7 July 1962. On 18 August 1962, Hulme Hall served as the venue for Ringo Starr’s first official performance as a Beatle following the sacking of Pete Best; the band’s first performance as the Fab Four.

In World War II, with a German invasion looming, the defence of Walmington-on-Sea rests in the hands of the local bank manager and a motley collection of volunteers in the Home Guard unit. Dad’s Army, despite being woefully ill-equipped, the rag-tag crew is ready to take on invading troops from across the Channel…

Your favourite characters – including Captain Mainwaring – are there along with a musical maestro who provides some stirring renditions of wartime favourites on the piano. This show is a must for any lover of the popular TV series. So bring your ration books, paste on your gravy stockings and join us for an unforgettable afternoon of good old fashioned fun and laughter!
