Option A
After breakfast, we have the option visit the majestic Haddon Hall. Described by Simon Jenkins, author of A Short History of British Architecture, as "the most perfect house to survive the Middle Ages". Spend the morning soaking up the history in this 900-year-old fortified manor house. On arrival, we will be met by an experienced guide who will take us through the social and family history of the Hall and stunning Gardens, with details of the architecture, the kitchens, Tudor and Elizabethan rooms and beautiful tapestries.
Disclaimer: Please note that the surfaces are quite uneven at Haddon Hall and are not suitable for people with limited mobility. There is an approximate 10 minute walk from the coach park to the entrance of the house including an incline. Once inside the grounds, the courtyard is cobbled and uneven in sections. Within the house steps have been worn away and dip in places. Please read the full accessibility statement below before choosing your option:

Option B (£35 reduction on tour price)
For those that do not wish to visit Haddon Hall the coach will drop you for free time in the pretty village of Matlock Bath. With its traditional seaside feel cosied at the foot of the High Tor limestone cliff, there is much to explore including the Heights of Abraham cable car (attraction tickets not included in Matlock Bath). Additional information regarding Abraham Heights Can be found here: The Heights of Abraham - Peak District and Derbyshire
In the afternoon, we regroup as we visit the pretty town of Bakewell, where we can take lunch at our leisure (not included). The combination of independent shops, cafés, and its location on the River Wye makes Bakewell a hugely popular destination. It's also famous for the Bakewell Pudding, the result of a cook misunderstanding a recipe in the 19th century.
