This tour gives you the opportunity to experience the Isle of Mans three heritage railways. The Manx Electric Railway which runs from Douglas to Ramsey; the Snaefell Mountain Railway which climbs to the mountains summit; and the Isle of Man Steam Railway which dates back to 1874. We take a step into the Islands past with trips to the House of Keys and a return journey on the Douglas Bay Horse Tram.

Isle of Man Steam Railway, Castletown and Port Erin
Travel by coach to Castletown and visit the House of Keys, an interactive retelling of the islands government. Continue south passing Cregneash to the Sound with magnificent views of the Calf of Man. At Port Erin we take a look around the Railway Museum before boarding the Steam Train back to Douglas.

Manx Electric Railway, Snaefell and Peel
After breakfast, we take the Manx Electric Railway to the pretty town of Laxey, famous for the Great Laxey Wheel, and join the Snaefell Mountain Railway for a return journey to the summit. Free time in Peel, so many options here, you may choose to visit the House of Manannan, Peel Castle, or treat yourself to an ice-cream in the harbour. We return home via Tynwald Hill.
Alternatively in the afternoon your group may choose to visit the Isle of Man Motor Museum and explore the amazing stories behind a collection of over 500 unique exhibits from around the world, including classic cars & motor vehicles and rarely seen private motorcycles. Situated on the former RAF Jurby in the sunny north of the Isle of Man, and opened in 2015, it has become a petrolhead’s paradise with something for everyone to enjoy (supplement on request).

Douglas Bay Horse Tram and free time in Douglas
This morning we take a journey on the charming Horse Tram along the Victorian promenade. The rest of the day is taken at your leisure. We highly recommend a walk up to the Manx Museum. This free to visit attraction is packed full of artefacts and treasures unique to the Isle of Man’s 10000 year history.
